FAQ
- How is stair volume estimated?
- As a stack of solid rectangular steps, which forms a triangular profile in total. This is a solid-fill estimate — it doesn't subtract space if the stairs are built over an existing slope or fill.
- What's a typical rise and run?
- Most residential exterior steps use a 7 in. rise and 11 in. run, but check local code — comfortable, safe stairs usually keep 2×rise + run close to 24–25 in.
